Super Saturday (Part deux)

All the Sydney form...

Race 1: Assertive Choice. Impeccibly bred, finally broke through at last start, but then suffered a setback and had a month off. Excellent chance to chalk up his second win here.

Race 2: Another 2YO race you would be advised to leave alone. Having said that, Anjuna has massive raps on it, but who really knows until they hit the track? No bet for me.

Race 3: As good as Shalimar Sky was last start, with a bit more luck One In A Million will be too classy.

Race 4: Pendragon was most impressive in his Gloaming win and should repeat the dose here. The most impressive fact about him is that he has gotten as close as anyone to Paratroopers over 1400 - and we all know what he has done since - yet should improve with distance.

Race 5: Studebaker is a really high class galloper (won a Turnbull) who has suffered a few setbacks on the way. Got within a neck of Lotteria over 1500m, and should relish the 2000m. Great each way chance if he holds it together.

Race 6: The performance of Run Rita Run last start was huge. Three wide out the back for much of the journey, yet ran Railings to a neck in the straight. Badly weighted here, getting only 1.5 Kg from Railings, as opposed to 3.5 Kg last week, but I think he can still pull it off. Each way.

Race 7: Epsom handicap looks a really tough race. Mr Celebrity is all the rage, getting 6 Kg less than WFA, with which he won last week. Nevertheless, two and a half weeks ago he was comfortably beaten by Collate over 1400m. I think you have to stick with the logic, and the logic says Mr Celebrity. But I'm not that confident I would be taking $3.50. Want around the $4.00 to $4.50 mark - but doubt I will get it.

Box up Mr Celebrity, Outback Prince, Collate, Ike's Dream, and Perfect Promise.

Race 8: Menmosyne will win here. My main worry with her is the Thousand Guineas - picking between her and Virage De Fortune will be emotionally distressing if they both run. Hopefully VDF will stick to the sprints - I think 12/1400 suite her better anyway. Mnemosyne will relish the mile.

Race 9: Impaler is a real speedster with a brilliant first up record, having won four from six fresh. That, combined with his class, is enough to get him my support.

Best of luck for tomorrow - great day of racing ahead, so just enjoy it. See you at Flemington.

Oh, and make sure you watch the Kelt Capital Stakes from New Zealand - featuring superstar Kiwi Xcellent. Is on at 1.40pm.
