Geelong Cup
I like Men At Work in the big one. Only goes up 1.5 Kg on his Metropolitan third placing, when absolutely slaughtered by Boss (to his credit, Boss admitted it was a shocker). Railings has since franked the form, I think it is safe to say.
Steven King goes on here, and from Barrier 1 shouldn't have to go around too many. As usual, it is an open and interesting race with some top line gallopers and bush battlers mixed together.
$6.50 is a very appealing price.
In the Classic, I think Gallant Guru has what it takes. Half brother to AJC Derby winner Gold Guru, he has worked through his classes nicely over in SA. Normally SA form doesn't hold up, but I think there is a lot to like about this one. Holly Go Lightly franked the form with a second placing behind Astronomia in the 3YO fillies race over 2000m at Caulfield last Saturday.
Very good chance, $3 is a bit keen though.
