Melbourne Cup tonight
Well the Melbourne cup (Greyhounds) is running tonight.
I have gone over the current form of the dogs and it is going to be a very close race, with four good chances.
The early market shows
$ 1.70 Bond - Box 2
$ 4.50 Paua To Burn - Box 6
$ 5.00 Closing Argument - Box 1
$ 10.00 Go Forever - Box 8
$ 13.00 Fenceline - Box 4
$ 21.00 See You Later - Box 5
$ 26.00 Suppression - Box 3
$ 61.00 Bonshaw Boy - Box 7
My tip: Closing Argument follwed by Bond and Go Porever.
Bond has been in sensational form with his recent 2 wins.
Paua To Burn has found some recent form and should go well
Closing Argument is a fast dog and should go well from this box.
Go Forever has been racing well but may be outclassed here.
Fenceline is inconsistent. He is a chance but always hard to tell.
See you Later beat Pure Octane last week which shows it is in good form. Its a chance as are all the dogs.
Suppression pushed around HAdes Rocket last start. Could cause problems for Bond and Fenceline.
Bonshow Boy has not been great since he fell. Could be coming back into form though.
The way I see the race running is :
Bond and Closing Argument are out fast and striving for the lead. Bonshow Boy pushes out hard and restricts Paua To Burn from getting a clean run. Suppressiona and Go Forever give chase. There will be some heavy checking going into the first turn. Bond ay run wide on the first turn and get caught in the clutter if he isn't leading. But Closing Argument will rail and take the lead. From here Bond will be chasing with Go Forever. Because of the checking to Bond and slow start for Go Forever, Closing argument will open a slight lead and he should hold it till the final post, with Bond coming second and Go Forever in for third.
Well thats the way I would like to see it, and based on their running styles should be the way it plays out.
Regardless of what is said above all of these dogs are in good form and running quick. Any dog could win, but for conistentancy and value you can't go past Closing Argument.
Good Luck.
