Queens Birthday

Brisbane Cup day, plus meetings at Moonee Valley and Warwick Farm.

The Valley

Track: SLOW

Race 1, no.2: Archibella

Not much to go on but this one has demonstrated that she can handle a genuine wet track and has a good barrier.

Race 2, no.7: Primeval Demand

All these are maidens, so again, not much to go on. Primeval Demand is by good wet track sire Red Ransom, has Noel Callow on, and is trained by Mick Price. Three things in his favour.

Race 3, no.1: Marwina Lass

No great revelation as a mare but doesn't have to be. Won ok at Sandown last time. Will handle the distance and wet track, Benbow is riding well, and has won at the Valley.

Race 4, no.2: Strategee Gee

Ran well first up being just beaten in Saturday class by Appian Way. Everything looks in her favour here.

Race 5, no.5: Intriguing

Clayton's jumpers flat here. Intriguing has been consistent in races like the Adelaide Cup and Andrew Ramsden, well beaten but competitive. Gets his chance to break through for win 3 here. But not massively confident.

Race 6, no.1: Stratton Place

Gee I Jane won this race last year, and came second in some Brisbane race over the weekend. Anyway, this consistent gelding comes in very well after the claim, and the wet conditions only help him. Every chance.

Race 7, no.1: El Milagro

This Encosta De Lago filly has been working through her classes well and should go on with it here. Wet track again, is in her favour.

Race 8, no.5: Hunter Hermitage

Form so far hasn't been great, but third run in should be hitting peak form. Tear away leader so should get a good sight for our money. Loves it wet.

Eagle Farm

Track: DEAD

Race 1, no.6: Mr Sequential

Goes well first up, honest sort of horse, doesn't meet much here.

Race 2, no.1: Le Bron

Got a bit of second up syndrome last time but is quite smart.

Race 3, no.3: Brambletye

I'm not all that confident. But this guy has a few boxes ticked.

Race 4, no.1: Spirit of Tara

Has been giving punters hell! But a good horse and should be a lot of pace here to bring him into things.

Race 5, no.17: Fashions Afield

I think the Doomben 10,000 form is a bit iffy so I can forgive her. Class runner in the race.

Race 6, no.7: Upper Echelon

Smart runner who has been looking for a mile and gets it here. $9 is a good price.

Race 7, no.2: Bazelle

Looking for two miles and unlike a few here has done a decent campaign, clocking up 10,000 metres. Will give a good sight and $17 is a great price. $4.80 Desert Master is a ridiculous price.

Race 8, no.3: Romare

Comes into this off the back of a black type placing, which is more than you can say for most of these cats.
